Introduction to CLTs and Custom Build, Swindon

On 19th November, Wiltshire CLT in partnership with the National CLT Network will be running an authoritative half-day seminar on Community Land Trusts. This event is an introduction to an innovative and community-led approach to meeting housing and other community needs.

Who should attend?

The seminar is ideal for communities wanting to set up a CLT as well as local authorities, housing associationsdevelopers, and enablers who are working with communities.  

Topics covered will include:

  • Case studies of a range of successful CLTs
  • The local context in Swindon
  • A focus on community self-build projects and the lessons learned from them
  • The opportunities the new Community Rights present for CLTs
  • Partnership opportunities between CLTs and housing associations/developers
  • Sources of advice and funding for aspiring community groups

Speakers include:

  • Nic Bliss, Chair, Confederation of Cooperative Housing
  • Catherine Harrington, National Coordinator, National CLT Network
  • Jackson Moulding, Ashley Vale Self-Build and Ecomotive
  • Rose Seagrief, CLT Manager, Wiltshire CLT
  • Steve Watson, Project leader, Somerset, Devon and Dorset CLT Project

The seminar will take place at Barbury House, Swindon, SN5 7HB on Monday 19th November,9:30 - 13:30.

The event is free for volunteers, £15 for paid staff at community organisations and £30 for all other organisations. A light lunch will be provided.
